Core Beliefs

CONNECTING to God and others (for the purpose of)

GROWING as faithful Christ-followers (who are)

SERVING Christ in the world.

Connecting to God is a fundamental human need.

Every person is made in God’s image and bears God’s likeness. (Genesis 1:26-27)

We were made by God and for God. We are hard-wired for relationship with God. God made us to love us. Before the foundations of the world were laid, before the universe was created, before anything else was in existence, God had already decided to create each of us, and to create each of us to be an object of his love. (Ephesians 1:4-6)

We discover this love through a relationship with God through Jesus Christ. (John 3:16; 14:6; 15:15)

Connecting to others is also a fundamental human need.

Just as we are hard-wired for relationship with God, so too we are hard-wired for relationships with others. We are created for community. (Genesis 2:18)

We live out our relationship with God in community with others who have discovered God’s love through a relationship with Jesus Christ. (Acts 2:42-47; 4:32-35)

Serving Christ in the world is our shared task.

Individually and in community we exist to follow Christ in mission in a lost and broken world so loved by God. (John 15:16) Empowered by the Holy Spirit, we are a people sent out by God into the world, locally and globally, to love, serve, and care for our neighbors in their need. (Matthew 22:37-39; 25:40) And we are a people sent out by God into the world, locally and globally, to proclaim the good news message of God's love, grace and mercy demonstrated when our Lord Jesus died for us. (Matthew 28:18-20; Acts 1:8)

We believe that we are called to keep growing in our love for God and our love for others. (John 14:1; 13:34-35 ) Part of doing this will mean that we need to invest, risk and share more of our time, talent, treasure and our very selves—in pursuit of that which is priceless and eternal, Jesus Christ and His mission in the world. (Matthew 6:19-21; 2 Corinthians 8:2-5; 1 John 3:16-18)
